TROY, Ala. – The Troy softball team wrapped up its fall schedule with a 6-0 record that included wins over Florida State and Mississippi State.
The Trojan roster includes a strong group of six seniors: Stephanie Snyder, Taylor Corbett, Claire Graves, Kaylee Hussey, Peyton Glover, and Madeline Porter. The seniors led an impressive group of underclassmen which includes six freshmen.
"I thought that overall it was a successful fall for us, and I think our girls really grew a lot as a team," Coach Beth Mullins said.
In their only road game, Troy took on the defending national champions, the Florida State Seminoles. Troy toppled the Seminoles in a 10-inning game, 6-1.
The Trojans' pitching and defense came up strong all fall allowing just seven runs across six games. Troy's sticks made strides, outscoring all opponents 42-7 and outscoring Power Five opponents 9-3.
"I think our older girls did a really good job at teaching our freshmen our culture and the way we do things; I was proud. We had some good results in the fall games and were able to play a lot of freshman in situations where we were playing really good Division I teams. I am proud of where we are at. We have a long way to go, but I am happy where we are right now."
After a successful fall run, Troy begins to look ahead to the spring. The spring schedule for the Trojans will be released in the coming week.
