Volleyball Primed for Final Road Test

TROY, Ala. – Troy volleyball will venture away from home for the final time in the 2018 regular season when it travels to Mobile to face rival South Alabama in Sun Belt action Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

The Trojans (10-16, 4-9) and Jags (12-14, 6-7) met Wednesday night in Troy in front of a wild crowd in Trojan Arena – USA won two close sets then ran away with the match in the third set for a straight-set victory.

Troy's powerful underclassmen duo of Cheyenne Hayes and Amara Anderson led the squad in the match, with Hayes slamming down 16 kills and Anderson tallying 38 assists – the fifth most by any Sun Belt player in a three-set game this season.

The team's chances of seeing postseason action will rely heavily on its success in the final three games of the season. As of Friday, Troy has just a half-game lead over Georgia State for fourth in the league's East Division – the top four teams from each division will advance to the conference tournament November 15-18 in Atlanta.
