Troy Football Press Conference (Players) - Liberty Game

TROY, Ala. -- A large group of Troy players met with the media on Monday in advance of Troy's non-conference game at Liberty on Saturday. Running back B.J. Smith, quarterback Sawyer Smith, bandit Hunter Reese, fullback Zacc Weldon and wide receiver Tray Eafford shared their thoughts on the change at quarterback with the injury to Kaleb Barker and Troy's 5-1 start to the season.
Smith rushed for 140 yards and a pair of scores in Troy's victory over Georgia State this past Thursday for his second consecutive 100-yard rushing game. Reese recorded 2.5 tackles for loss against the Panthers, while Eafford caught his fifth career touchdown pass and Weldon recorded his first career touch with a 3-yard reception. Smith will take over as Troy's starting quarterback after Barker tore his ACL against Georgia State.
