Troy Volleyball Hits the Road Again

TROY, Ala. – Troy will trek its way into the Carolinas this weekend as the Trojans are set to do battle with Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State Friday and Sunday. First serves are set for 5:30 p.m. (CDT) and 11:30 a.m. (CDT), respectively.

The Trojans will look to continue a four-game conference road winning streak against the top two teams in the Sun Belt East Division. Troy currently sits in fourth in the division, with all six of its remaining matches against the three teams ahead.

Last time out, the Trojans followed a disappointing performance against UT Arlington with a stronger showing against league-leading Texas State last Saturday at Trojan Arena.

Last year's Sun Belt champion, Coastal Carolina (7-11, 6-4) has not been quite as dominant in 2018. The Chanticleers have lost four of their last five matches – UTA, Texas State and Appalachian State (twice).

Up on the mountain, Appalachian State (15-7, 7-3) has paced the East all season and boasts the second-best kills per set total in the league with a 13.66. So far, Troy is the only team with a better service aces per set average this season than the Mountaineers.
