Volleyball Brings Winning Streak Back to Trojan Arena

TROY, Ala. – After a perfect, four-game road stint, Troy volleyball is set to return to Trojan Arena this weekend as it welcomes UT Arlington and Texas State for a pair of 6:30 p.m. matches on ESPN+.

The Trojans, led by back-to-back Sun Belt Setter of the Week Amara Anderson, have rattled off four consecutive wins on the road in conference play for the first time since the program joined the league in 2005.

This past Monday, Anderson became just the third player in school history to earn player of the week honors in consecutive weeks – the other two went on to earn player of the year honors in the following seasons.

Statistically, Troy leads the conference with 131 service aces (1.56 per set) in 2018 and boasts two players in the top 10 in the category – Cheyenne Hayes (30) and SaraGrace Wilson (23). Hayes also ranks second in the league in kills and has posted double-digit kills in each of her last 19 matches.

Historically, Troy has struggled against the two Texas schools – losing six in a row to UTA and having never defeated Texas State in nine tries. Both teams have been among the hottest teams in the league, especially Texas State who has reeled in 11 straight wins and is undefeated in conference play.
