TROY, Ala. – Troy is on the road again this weekend as it continues its season-long conference road trip at Georgia Southern and Georgia State Friday and Saturday; first serves are both set for 5:30 p.m. (CDT).
Â
The Trojans (8-11, 2-4) ended a losing skid with two big wins at Louisiana and ULM last weekend and enter this week boasting two of the league's players of the week. Offensive Player of the Week Cheyenne Hayes and Setter of the Week Amara Anderson became the first two Troy players to earn weekly conference honors since 2015.
Â
Hayes and Anderson lead the squad into another weekend on the road with the same goal in mind as last week – coming away with two solid conference wins. Troy fell in its previous meeting with both the Eagles and the Panthers.
Â
Georgia Southern (7-12, 2-3) have won seven straight over Troy, including a four-set win at Trojan Arena on Sept. 30. The Eagles have been one of the most dominant teams defensively this season, as they rank second in the league with 190.5 total blocks.
Â
Over in Atlanta, Georgia State (5-11, 2-4) split its matches with the Texas schools its last time out. The Trojans led 2-0 before the Panthers stormed back for the five-set victory.
