Troy Stifled In 4-0 Loss At Ole Miss
1/20/2018 9:21:00 PM | Tennis (M)
Oxford, MISS. – The beginning of the 2018 schedule did not go as planned as Troy was unable to get anything going in a 4-0 loss to Ole Miss on the road on Saturday.
The Rebels (2-0) immediately applied pressure to the Trojans (0-1) by taking the doubles point with three 6-2 victories. Troy's pairings in the identical losses were Jiaqi Duan and Pelayo Antuna, Andy Lau and Mustapha Belcora and Oskar Michalek and Amer Bedwan.
Singles play did not fare better as three of four matches went unfinished with Ole Miss jumping out to three quick two-set wins to finish the match off. The closest Troy came to winning a set was a 6-3, 6-4 loss by Duan to Fabian Fallert.
There will be a lengthy break to regroup as the Trojans will not take the court again until Feb. 2 at North Florida. For more information on Troy men's tennis, visit TroyTrojans.com or follow along at @TroyAthletics.
