Three back-to-back kills from Mercer's Paige Alsten put the Bears up 15-13, but the Trojans rallied back to even things at 16-16 and even took a lead late in the set. Even at 20-20, the Trojans called timeout, but just couldn't break through Mercer's relentless offense as the Bears earned the fourth set and match victory.
