Football, Prizes, T-Shirt Swap & Pizza – Student Appreciation Scrimmage Friday

TROY, Alabama – With the start of football season just two weeks away, Troy students can get a primer of this year's Trojan squad at the Student Appreciation Scrimmage on Friday at 5 p.m. in The Vet.
Gates to the stadium will open at 4:45 p.m. and the first 500 Troy University students in The Vet will receive free pizza courtesy of Troy Athletics as part of Welcome Week.
Students will also have an opportunity to get great Troy gear and help charity at the same time. Barnes & Noble will have 2,000 T-shirts on hand to exchange with Troy students who bring a shirt from another school to swap – all exchanged shirts will be donated to those in need.
What is a Troy football game without the Sound of the South and the Troy cheerleaders? Both will be on hand Friday evening performing throughout the scrimmage and teaching incoming students all of Troy's gameday cheers in preparation for the upcoming season.
Additionally, students will be selected to participate in various on-field promotions through the scrimmage for a chance to win prizes from Troy Athletics and the Troy SGA. Students will also be able to purchase tickets for Troy's game at No. 12 LSU on Sept. 30. Tickets are $40 each and are limited to one ticket per student ID.
