Troy Football Schedule Updates; Texas State Date Moved, Multiple Game Times Set

TROY, Alabama – Troy and the Sun Belt Conference made a flurry of announcements regarding Troy's football schedule Wednesday afternoon as game times were set for contests against Boise State, Alabama State, New Mexico State, South Alabama and Idaho. Additionally, Troy's home game against Texas State was moved up a day to Friday, Nov. 24.

Troy's season opener at Boise State on Saturday, Sept. 2, is schedule for a 2:45 p.m. (CT) kickoff from Albertsons Stadium in a national broadcast on ESPNU; it will be Boise State's first afternoon home game since 2013. Troy will open its six-game home slate the following Saturday, Sept. 9, against in-state foe Alabama State with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m. in The Vet and the game will be broadcast on ESPN3.

ESPN also announced kickoff times for Troy's two home games against South Alabama and Idaho. The "Battle for the Belt" against South Alabama will kickoff at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11, on ESPN2, while Troy's game against Idaho on Thursday, Nov. 2, will kickoff at 8:15 p.m. on ESPNU. Troy's Sun Belt opener at New Mexico State on Saturday, Sept. 16, is scheduled for 7 p.m. (CT) and will be broadcast on ESPN3.

Additionally, Troy and Texas State came to a mutual agreement to move their game up a day to the Friday slot with a time to be announced at a later date.

"I appreciate Texas State University working closely with us to make this schedule adjustment," Troy Director of Athletics Jeremy McClain said. "Scheduling over holiday weekends can be difficult, and as we have in the past, we opted to move this game to the Friday after Thanksgiving. This will maximize our opportunity for regional and national exposure, as well as create the best game day environment possible for our players and fans."

Coming off the best turnaround in the country, an Associated Press Top 25 ranking, the first 10-win season in the school's FBS history and a Dollar General Bowl title, Troy will be among the favorites in the Sun Belt Conference and the Group of Five with 17 starters and 54 lettermen returning from the 2016 squad.

Troy set single-season records last season for both overall attendance and per-game attendance. The Trojans once again have six home games in The Vet including the in-state matchups with Alabama State and South Alabama.

Season ticket packages start at low as $60 for general admission seats and fans have multiple options to choose from including Family 4-Packs, Stadium Club and reserved seating.
