NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana – The Troy women's tennis team traveled to Tulane for a non-conference match up on Sunday, and rallied past the Green Wave 4-3. Troy has picked up three straight wins on the road to move to 7-12 on the season.
After falling in the first doubles match, the Trojans bounced back to win the next two to clinch the doubles point. Sanae Ohta and Nancy Karaky won their match 6-2, and Jiayuan Xue and Efriliya Herlina clinched with a 6-3 win.
In singles play, Xue played on court five and defeated Christina Sisti 6-1, 6-3. Alicia Rodriguez followed with her 11th win of the season as she defeated Sofia Kurtz 6-1, 6-2.
Tulane (21-6) won the following two matches, but Ohta clinched the win for the second match in a row as she defeated Kyla Klier in three sets 6-4, 6-7, 6-0.
Troy will continue road competition as they travel back to Mobile to face Middle Tennessee and conference rival South Alabama on April 14 and 15 for its last regular season matches of the season. Match times for both days are TBA.
