Women’s Tennis Falls to Middle Tennessee State

MOBILE, Alabama – The Troy women's tennis team traveled to Mobile, Ala., for a neutral site match against Middle Tennessee State on Saturday. The Trojans fell to the Blue Raiders 4-2. Troy now moves to 7-13 on the season.

In doubles competition, Sanae Ohta and Nancy Karaky picked up the win on court one as they defeated Sarah Sediri and Luisa Zirillii 6-2. Ohta and Karaky improve to 11-4 on the year. MTSU won the doubles point as they picked up wins on courts two and three.

In singles, Jiayuan Xue defeated Zirilli 7-6, 6-4 on court three to give the Trojans their first point. Louisa Ferrauti also earned the win as she defeated Sediri in three sets, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2. Efriliya Herlina got a first set in against her opponent, but lost the final two as MTSU earned the point.

The Trojans will close out conference and regular season play as they compete against South Alabama on Sunday at 11 a.m.
