Men’s Golf Makes a Move on Final Day of Mason Rudolph

FRANKLIN, Tennessee – Three Trojans shot under par as Troy made a move up the leaderboard in Sunday's final round of the Mason Rudolph Championship at the Vanderbilt Legends Club. No. 61 Troy moved past No. 43 Liberty into eighth place in a field that featured six top-50 teams and nine top-75 teams.
Troy shot 2-under as a team on Sunday as Luke Moser and Jared Bettcher both fired rounds of 2-under 69 on the day. Playing as an individual, Jake Tiffin carded three birdies and an eagle to also shoot 2-under for his second career collegiate round under par.
Moser climbed nine spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 15th place after shooting 3-under on the weekend. One of the players he tied was teammate Calum Masters who shot even par for the second straight round after opening the event with a 2-under on Friday.
Moser finished second in the field as he played the par 4 holes to the tune of 3-under over the weekend, while Calum Masters' 13 birdies were among the leaders. Clayton Vannoy and Moser tied for the third most pars in the field with 40.
Bettcher charged 13 spots up the leaderboard after his 2-under day as he tied for 45th place, just two spots behind Clayton Vannoy who tied for 43rd after he carded a 2-over 73 in the final round. Bettcher sat 2-over after 13 holes, but ended his round with two birdies and an eagle over his final five holes. Jake Tiffin moved into a tie for 49th place and Cam Norman tied for 60th.
The Trojans will have three weeks off before traveling to Miramar Beach, Fla., April 23-25 in search of their second straight Sun Belt Conference championship.
