Women’s Tennis Falls to Xavier

FORT MYERS, Florida- The Troy women's tennis team traveled to Fort Myers, Fla., for a pair of matches. The Trojans (3-9) dropped in their first match 5-2 to Xavier. Troy will face Florida Gulf Coast tomorrow at 11 a.m.

Xavier (5-7) took the early doubles point as they defeated the Trojans on courts one and two. After a slow start to singles competition, Troy was able to win the final two singles matches to get their two points on the board.

Senior Alicia Rodriguez won Troy's first point of the day as she defeated her Musketeer opponent in three sets 7-5, 4-6, 10-6. Luisa Ferrauti also came out on top as she won her three set match 7-5, 4-6, 12-10.

Troy will finish their Florida road trip as they face Florida Gulf Coast tomorrow at 11 a.m. The Eagles are 5-3 overall and defeated the Musketeers earlier in the week.
