FGCU Defeats Troy Women’s Tennis 4-1

FORT MYERS, Florida- The Troy women's tennis team completed its two-day stint in Fort Myers, Fla., as it fell 4-1 to Florida Gulf Coast University at the FCGU Tennis Complex. Troy is now 3-10 on the season.

The Eagles picked up the early doubles point as they defeated Troy on courts one and two 6-2, 6-1, respectively.

In singles play, Efriliya Herlina picked up her seventh dual match singles win as she defeated Sara Kelly 6-4, 6-1 to put Troy's point on the board. She now moves to 7-6 on the season. Nancy Karaky fought hard in her second set but fell to Julia Ascua 6-0, 7-5 to allow FGCU to take the point.

After a week off, Troy will return home to host the Troy Spring Invitation where the team will host Central Arkansas on Monday, March 20, at 2 p.m., and Alabama State on Wednesday, March 22, at 10 a.m.
