Women’s Tennis Defeats Central Arkansas

TROY, Alabama- The Troy women's tennis team defeated Central Arkansas 4-3 on Monday, at the Lunsford Tennis Complex. This was the first match of the Troy Spring Invitational.

Troy earned the doubles point after duo Sanae Ohta and Nancy Karaky defeated their UCA opponent 6-2. Jiayuan Xue and Efriliya Herlina sealed the doubles decision with another 6-2 win for the Trojans.

In singles play, senior Alicia Rodriguez clinched the match for the Trojans after she defeated Marli Van Heerdan in three sets 6-0, 4-6, 7-5. Sanae Ohta also picked up a three set win 6-7, 6-2, 6-1. Hannah Seizer fought back after dropping the first set to defeat Hee-Jin Oh 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.

The Trojans move to 4-10 on the season. They will continue play at the Troy Spring Invitational as they face Alabama A&M on Wednesday, March 22 at 2:30 p.m.
