AUGUSTA, Georgia – Gabi Oubre' sank three birdies and shot even par to lead the Troy women's golf team on the opening day of the 3M Augusta Invitational at the Forest Hills Golf Club on Friday. Oubre' is tied for 10th place overall, while the Trojans are sixth in a field that features 11 teams ranked among the top 100 in the country and three in the top 50.
Bianca Lohbauer carded a pair of birdies on the day and shot a 1-over 73 to finish the day tied for 13th place, while Fátima Fernández Cano had a pair of birdies and shot a 2-over 74 to sit in a tie for 19th place. Becca Horner also dropped in a pair of birdies as she shot 7-over on the day, while Bria Jansen had one birdie and shot a 9-over.
Daytona State is the lone team under par at 1-under and leads No. 23 Purdue and No. 33 by one shot; Troy shot 10 over on the day and is just six shots behind Memphis for fourth place.
Troy will play with Memphis and Kennesaw State in Saturday second round; the first group will be on the course at 9:20 a.m. (CT) and will begin on the first hole.
