GAINESVILLE, Florida – The Troy women's golf team opened its spring season with a 10th place finish at the Gator Invitational at the Mark Bostick Golf Course; the Trojans shot a 296 on Sunday for their best round of the weekend.
Gabi Oubre' carded a team-high three birdies in the final round en route to shooting a 2-over 70; she tied for 18th place overall to lead the Trojans. Bianca Lohbauer added a birdie and shot a 5-over to finish tied for 30th overall.
Becca Horner finished just two shots behind Lohbauer in a tie for 44th place after two birdies and a round of 4-over on Sunday. Fátima Fernández Cano also carded a 5-over on Sunday and tied for 53rd place, while Bria Jansen finished in 77th place overall.
Troy picked up victories over No. 44 Wisconsin, No. 86 Kansas and No. 96 Mercer in the event. The Trojans will be back in action March 17-19 at the 3M Augusta Invitational in Augusta, Ga.
