BIRMINGHAM, Alabama- The Troy women's tennis team earned its second win of the season on the road in Birmingham on Saturday afternoon defeating the UAB Blazers 4-2. Troy is now 2-7 on the season.

In doubles, Troy clinched the first point early as Sanae Ohta and Nancy Karaky took down their opposing Blazer duo 6-4. On court three, Jiayuan Xue and Efriliya Herlina routed another Blazer duo 6-0, to earn the doubles point for the Trojans.

In the singles competiton, Sanae Ohta faced Reghan Lynch and won in three sets 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 to clinch the match for the Trojans. On the fifth and sixth courts, both Efriliya Herlina and Luisa Ferrauti shut out their respective opponent 6-0,6-0.

QUOTABLE
"I am very proud of our team's overall performance on the court today," head coach Rawia Elsisi said. "They have all been working very hard throughout the season to accomplish team unity and handle pressure. This is a good win for them especially heading towards the start of our spring break matches against New Orleans and USC Upstate."

UP NEXT
Troy will host its first home match against New Orleans on March 5 at 11 a.m., followed by another home match against USC Upstate March 6 at 11 a.m. at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
