Troy Falters at No. 11 Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tennessee – The Troy women's basketball team stumbled out of the gate falling to No. 11 Tennessee 131-69 at Thompson-Boling Arena on Wednesday.
The Lady Vols (9-0) shot 59 percent from the field while the Trojans (4-2) managed to shoot just 29 percent for the game.
Shaterrika O'Neal led the way for Troy scoring a career-high 15 points and tied with Dajia Williams and Amahni Upshaw with five rebounds. Amber Rivers poured in 14 points while Amanda Mendoza added 10. Seven Lady Volunteers scored in double figures paced by 27 from Jaime Nared.
After struggling in the third quarter, the Trojan offense came to life in the final phase outscoring Tennessee 30-26 over the last 10 minutes.

Troy returns to Trojan Arena to face Montevallo on Saturday in its final home non-conference contest. Tip is set for 2 p.m.
