TROY, Alabama – The Troy women's basketball team looks to build on its performance on Friday with a 1 p.m. contest against Georgia State on Sunday in Trojan Arena.
Amber Rivers' 20 points led the Trojans (6-6, 1-0) to an 88-47 victory over Georgia Southern on Friday. Kayla Robinson was also red-hot going 7-for-8 from the field and finished with 16 points, six rebounds and six assists.
Georgia State (4-8, 0-1) dropped its Sun Belt Conference opener 88-52 at South Alabama, but were missing leading scorer Shay Fluker, who is averaging 16.1 points per game. The Panthers have lost its last two contests after winning three of four. Georgia State leads the conference in free throw percentage (75.4 percent), is second in steals per game (10.0) and third in turnovers forced (17.8).
