Troy Falls at Middle Tennessee

MURFREESBORO, Tennessee – Troy shot just 24 percent from the field and was held to its lowest point total in the regular season since 2015 as Middle Tennessee took a 73-57 victory in the Murphy Center on Thursday.
The Trojans (5-3) did not have an answer for the Blue Raiders (6-3) defense, which entered the game ranked 18th nationally allowing 54.0 points, as no Troy player scored in double figures for the first time since 2016 against Oregon State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Amahni Upshaw led the Trojan effort with nine points and 11 rebounds. Upshaw has posted double digit rebounds in consecutive games. Harriet Winchester also scored nine points going was 3-of-8 from beyond the arc. Dajia Williams had a career-high five steals to go along with eight points and seven rebounds.
Four Blue Raiders scored in double figures led by Abbey Sissom with 18 and followed by Gabby Lyon with 11. Charity Savage, Rebecca Reuter and Jordan Majors scored 10 each while Majors turned in a team-high 11 boards.

• Middle Tennessee entered the game shooting 34.9 percent from 3-point range, but was held to just 4-of-17 (23.5 percent) shooting from distance on Thursday.
• The Trojans forced 26 turnovers in the game and have now strained opponents into 20-plus miscues in seven of eight games this season.
