No. 8 Troy Ready for No. 4 Arkansas State in Sun Belt Tournament

JONESBORO, Arkansas- After upsetting No. 5 South Alabama 3-2 Thursday night in the Sun Belt Tournament, Troy volleyball (11-21, 4-12 SBC) returns to the court to face No. 4 Arkansas State on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

The Trojans put up a great performance against South with middle hitters Logan Page and Savannah Moore leading the way each with 17 kills. Belle Waldrop and freshman Cheyenne Hayes combined for 25 kills as Troy took down the Jaguars in five sets.

ABOUT ARKANSAS STATE
The Red Wolves enter the tournament at 19-10 overall after going 12-4 in the Sun Belt. Arkansas State finished the regular-season ranking third in the Sun Belt West behind Texas State and UL-Lafayette. Junior Carlisa May earned Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year honors and leads the team with 430 kills this season. Defensively, freshman Tatum Ticknor has made a huge impact for the Red Wolves with 532 digs on the year.

NOTEWORTHY

Troy fell to Arkansas State 3-0 earlier in the season.
Troy's win over South Alabama was the team's first tournament victory since 2013 when the Trojans defeated Western Kentucky 3-0.
Waldrop leads the Trojans with 283 kills this season, followed by Moore with 267.
The Trojans posted a season-high 15.0 blocks in their first-round win over South Alabama. The team's previous high was 13.0 against Georgia State on Sept. 30.
Hayes recorded her fourth double-double of the year against the Jaguars tallying 12 kills and 18 digs, while Kiara Barrett posted her ninth double-double with 37 assists and 13 digs.
