Troy Volleyball to Face South Alabama in Sun Belt Tournament

TROY, Alabama- After falling just short of the conference tournament last season, first-year head coach Josh Lauer and the No. 8 Trojans are prepared to take on No. 5 South Alabama on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m., in Jonesboro, Ark.

Troy (10-21, 4-12 SBC) clinched its spot in the tournament with a huge five-set win over Appalachian State. The Trojans fell to the Mountaineers in five sets earlier in the season, but bounced back to claim the 3-2 victory in Trojan Arena to earn the eight-seed in the Sun Belt Tournament.

Sophomore middle hitters Logan Page and Savannah Moore have been the workhorses for the Trojans this season. The duo has combined for 471 kills and 187 blocks. Moore's .750 hitting percentage against Little Rock is the highest in the Sun Belt this season, while Page's .680 against Georgia State ranks fourth.

Freshman Cheyenne Hayes has also made an impact in her first year as a Trojan, joining Moore and Page as the only players to start every match this season. She has posted double-digit kills in four of her last five matches. She also ranks second in the league with 39 service aces.

ABOUT SOUTH ALABAMA
South Alabama finished the regular season 17-9 overall and 12-4 in league-play to earn the No. 5 seed in the tournament. The Jaguars defeated the Trojans twice this season, taking the first match 3-0 in Mobile, and won the second matchup 3-1 at the Trojan Arena.
