HONOLULU, Hawai'i – After narrowly falling in a thriller against North Dakota to start the season on Friday, Troy will look to pick up the first win of the season against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 6:30 p.m. (CT) Sunday.
Friday's match against North Dakota marked the only game in Division I that pitted two March Madness teams against one another. Wesley Person and Jordon Varnado combined for 49 points in the game while Kevin Baker added 10.
The Trojans had the opportunity to go up one with 13 seconds to play, but Juan Davis, Jr., was only able to convert two-of-three free throws. Geno Crandall of the Fighting Hawks capped the game off with three free throws to finish with 41 points.
Prior to Friday, Troy had won three consecutive season opening games. Sunday's game will mark back-to-back games as Troy will proceed to face Hawai'I on Monday to close out the Rainbow Classic.
