Troy Volleyball Hosts South Alabama

TROY, Alabama- The Troy volleyball team (6-13, 1-4 SBC) looks for redemption as it hosts the South Alabama Jaguars (10-5, 5-0 SBC) on Saturday in the Trojan Arena. The match time has been moved to 1 p.m., due to potential bad weather. The Trojans faced the Jags in Mobile on Wednesday and fell in three sets as South Alabama remains undefeated in conference play.

Sophomores Savannah Moore and Belle Waldrop led the efforts for the Trojans each with one block and eight kills. Moore's set a new career-high with a .636 attack percentage.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
The Jaguars have started the season off strong posting a 10-5 overall record against some tough opponents and have gone undefeated so far in conference play. South is led by sophomore Iva Durdanovic who has delivered 139 kills (2.57 kills/set). The Jags enter the weekend as the Sun Belt East Division leader.

Page is third in the conference with a .349 hitting percentage on the season; her .680 attack percentage against Georgia State ranks second in the Sun Belt
The Trojans rank third in the conference in service aces averaging 1.49 aces per set.
Sophomore Kiara Barrett ranks third in the Sun Belt with 24 aces, averaging 0.35 aces per set. She also posted a career-high 19 digs against South on Wednesday
Belle Waldrop leads the team with 168 kills (2.42 kills/set), while Lauren Long is second with 149 kills.
Troy continues to lead its opponents in kills (856-755), assists (797-676), Aces (103-84) and digs (807-799).
Only Savannah Moore, Cheyenne Hayes and Logan Page have started every match for the Trojans so far this season.
The Jags closed the gap on Wednesday as Troy now holds a narrow 24-22 all-time series lead over South Alabama.
