Karaky Picks Up Two Wins as Troy Falls to Virginia Tech

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Troy women's tennis team completed their first match of the 2017 season falling to Virginia Tech 5-2. The Trojans resume play in Blacksburg tomorrow at 9 a.m. CT against ETSU.
The Trojans picked up a win in both singles and doubles play. Nancy Karaky defeated Caroline Dexhelet 6-6 after an injury withdrawal in singles. In doubles action, Karaky and Alicia Rodriguez defeated Sansitha Nandakumar and Natalie Novotna 6-2.
"The girls had good match especially winning doubles point today," head coach Rawia Elsisi said. "It was a good start for the season against a strong ACC team like Virginia Tech being top-30 program in country."
NOTEWORTHY
• With two wins on the day, Karaky picks up her 21st overall win. Karaky and Rodriguez get their fourth win as a duo.
