Box Score
ATLANTA, Georgia – The Troy soccer team created plenty of chances but could not find the back of the net as the Trojans drew with Georgia State, 0-0, at the GSU Soccer Field on Saturday.
Â
Brooke McKee led all players with six shots, while Mikki Lewis recorded her sixth shutout of the season. Troy's defense again allowed its opponent very few opportunities as Georgia State (4-3-5, 1-1-3) managed just five shots in the game, while the Trojans produced 16 shots and nine corners
Â
QUOTABLE
"I thought the team played absolutely fantastic tonight," head coach Jason Hamilton said. "Getting any kind of result on the road is very difficult in our conference.
Â
Just like with the previous two games when we dominate the statistical categories such as shots and corners it shows we are doing a lot of things right offensively and defensively. We just need to put the ball in the back of the goal."
UP NEXT
Troy (5-5-3, 1-1-2) travels to take on Georgia Southern on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
Â
NOTEWORTHY
• Troy has eclipsed double-digit shots in four consecutive games and five of the last six. The Trojans have totaled 10 or more shots in 34 of the last 37 Sun Belt Conference games.
Â
• The match was the team's third straight to go into overtime. Troy has played five overtime games this season.
