Troy Wraps Final Practice Before School Starts

TROY, Alabama – While not officially wrapping fall camp, the Troy football team worked out for over two hours on the grass practice fields behind Trojan Arena in the final practice before classes start on Wednesday.
The Trojans are just 18 days away from opening the season against Austin Peay in Veterans Memorial Stadium on Sept. 3. Head coach Neal Brown and his staff are close to trimming down the reps and will look to Saturday's scrimmage to finalize some depth chart decisions.
Tuesday's practice once again put a heavy emphasis on competition between the offense and the defense. The offense was the clear winner in the first half of practice, but the defense rallied over the second half, including back-to-back stops on the final two plays to claim victory for the second straight week.
In addition to the scrimmage on Saturday, which gets underway at 11 a.m., Fan Day is on tap from 2-4 p.m. in Trojan Arena as members of the football, volleyball, soccer and cross country teams will be on hand, along with the Troy cheerleaders and T-Roy, to pose for pictures and sign autographs. Team posters will be provided for fans and there will be free food and drinks provided by the Trojan Warrior Fund.
