Troy Baseball Adds Another To 2017 Recruiting Class

TROY, Alabama – Head coach Mark Smartt and the baseball staff announced the addition of Mack Hathcock to the 2017 class, who signed his National Letter of Intent on Monday.

"We are excited about adding Mack to our 2017 team, he brings athleticism and competitiveness that will help our club in the future," Smartt said. "Mack's success at Northwest Florida will no doubt play a positive role in his success at Troy. Coach Martin does a tremendous job developing his players on and off the field. "

Hathcock is a 5-8, 175-pound junior college outfielder out of Northwest Florida State College. He was the starting center fielder on the 2015 junior college national championship team, where he batted .340 with three home runs and 14 RBIs in 50 games. He also scored 36 runs and stole 19 bases.

The Moultrie, Ga., native currently has a .325 batting average with four home runs and 23 RBIs. He has added to his already impressive runs scored total and has 51, 15 more than last year through 47 games.

Hathcock is the ninth newcomer to join the 2017 team for the Trojans.
