Troy Women’s Tennis Closes Home Schedule on Saturday

TROY, Alabama – The Troy women's tennis team will close out its home schedule on Saturday when the Trojans host Alabama A&M at the Lunsford Tennis Complex at 12 p.m.

Troy (10-5) has won six of its last eight matches, but is coming off of a 4-3 loss to No. 43 South Alabama at home on Wednesday. The Trojans pushed the Jaguars, but came up just short of grabbing the upset win.

Sophomores Sanae Ohta and Nancy Karaky both moved up in the Troy lineup against South Alabama, and extended their winning streaks while doing so. Ohta moved up to No. 2 in the lineup and won her seventh straight match. Karaky moved up to No. 4 and won her sixth straight.

Ohta and Karaky are 10-2 and 11-3 in singles singles play this spring, respectively. The pair have also combined to go 9-3 in doubles play, including five straight wins.

Alabama A&M (2-10) will host Grambling State on Friday before visiting Troy. Prior to that match, the Bulldogs last played on March 11 when they lost at UAB.

Following Saturday's home finale, the Trojans will travel to Boone, N.C., for a pair of Sun Belt matches against Georgia State and Georgia Southern next Friday and Saturday.
