TROY, Alabama – The Troy men's basketball team closes out its home schedule Saturday afternoon when it hosts ULM on Senior Day inside Trojan Arena. Tipoff between the Trojans and Warhawks is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. and is the second game doubleheader with the Troy women.
Troy will honor a pair of players prior to the game as John Walton III and Jordan Howard will play their final games in a Trojan uniform.
To help celebrate the final four home games of the season, Troy Athletics offered a special ticket and food deal to its fans this week. The Final Four Four Pack, which will still be available on Saturday, includes four general admission tickets and four $5 concession stand vouchers for just $40.
In addition to the Final Four Four Pack, the first 500 fans at Saturday's doubleheader will receive a free Troy Athletics stress ball.
The Trojans (9-19, 4-13 Sun Belt) enter Saturday's home finale looking to rebound from a tough loss to UL Lafayette on Thursday night. The Trojans led the Cajuns by 12 at the half, but couldn't overcome a sluggish shooting performance in the second half in a 73-63 loss.
Wesley Person extended his streak with a 3-pointer out to 57 games as he knocked down a pair in the game. Person led the Trojans with 17 points, while Jeremy Hollimon chipped in 11 points off the bench. Walton just missed out of his fifth double-double of the season as he finished with nine points and 11 rebounds.
Person enters the final three games of the season needing just 10 3-pointers to set the Troy single-season Division I record, while Walton is just 20 rebounds shy of moving into fourth place on Troy's Division I career rebounding list.
ULM enters the game with wins in six straight games and 10 of its last 11 contests. The Warhawks are coming off a 66-59 victory at South Alabama on Thursday in which Jamaal Samuel scored 15 points and pulled down seven rebounds.
Majok Deng leads ULM and ranks third in the league averaging 19.0 points and also leads the Warhawks with 7.0 rebounds, which is seventh best in the Sun Belt.
Hollimon scored 26 points, while Jordon Varnado and Shawn Hopkins added 11 points the first time the two clubs met. The Trojans shot 52 percent from the floor in the game, but Deng scored 33 points to lead ULM to an 85-74 win.
Following Saturday's game, Troy will wrap up the regular season with a swing through Texas. The Trojans will play at Texas State on Thursday and UT Arlington on Saturday.
