Troy-UAB Square Off on Sunday

TROY, Alabama – Coming off a 100-75 victory at Nicholls State on Wednesday, the Troy women's basketball team returns home to face in-state rival UAB on Sunday at 2 p.m.

The Trojans scored 100 points for the 14^th time under fifth year head coach Chanda Rigby. Behind career-highs from freshmen Kayla Robinson (19 pts) and Harriet Winchester (18 pts), Troy scored 55 points in the final 16 minutes against the Colonels.

Troy (6-2) is looking for redemption after dropping an 89-67 decision to UAB in Birmingham last season. The Blazers (4-4) fell to No. 7 Florida State, 93-47, on December 10 but have been getting solid contributions from freshmen Miyah Barnes and Rachael Childress. Barnes leads all Conference USA freshmen with 3.3 assists per game and a 1.2 assist-to-turnover ratio. Childress ranks second among CUSA frosh with 2.0 3-pointers per game and 3-point field goal percentage (39.0).

• Troy is looking to start 7-2 for the first time since 2009-10.
