Women's Golf Heads to Mercer to Close Out Fall

TROY, Alabama – The Troy women's golf team closes out its fall schedule at the Idle Hour Collegiate Championship hosted by Mercer on Monday and Tuesday at Idle Hour Club.
The Trojans enter their final tournament before the winter break ranked second in the Sun Belt Conference with a 12.11 score vs. par through their first nine rounds and three tournaments of the season.
Fátima Fernández Cano continues to lead the Trojans with a 72.67 stroke average to open the year and she is the lone Troy golfer to have all of her individual rounds count towards the team card. Cano has played a pair of rounds under par on the year, including a 5-under 67.
Head coach Bart Barnes will also turn to a pair of seniors, Becca Horner (76.11) and Gabi Oubre' (77.44), and a pair of sophomores, Bianca Lohbauer (75.33) and Lindsey Harrison (79.11). Sophomore Antonia Poate and Bria Jansen will make their season debuts and play as individuals.
Troy will be paired with Mercer and Toledo on the par-72, 6,136-yard course for the opening two rounds; teams will play 36 holes on Monday with a shotgun start beginning at 7:45 a.m. (CDT).
