TROY, Alabama – The Troy Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) collected 218 pairs of shoes during its Shoes That Fit shoe drive in September. Troy's SAAC will donate the shoes to the Christian Love Center, which provides afterschool care and academic assistance for citizens in the Pike Community.
"We would like to thank everyone for their great support of our Shoes That Fit drive," Troy SAAC President Leah Brundidge said. "We collected over 200 pairs of shoes that will be donated to the Christian Love Community Development Center. We could not have had such success without the support and hard work of our great student-athletes, campus and community."
"On behalf SAAC, we would like to thank everyone for donating shoes," Troy Lifeskills Coordinator Jasmine Chievous said. "The shoes will be given to a second chance clothing closet at the Christian Love Center and make a difference in people's lives. We are happy to have started this initiative and look forward to doubling these numbers next year."
