Women’s Golf Tied for Fifth Following Day One of Chris Banister

GLENCOE, Alabama – The Troy women's golf team is tied for fifth place following Sunday's opening round of the Chris Banister Golf Classic at the Silver Lakes Golf Course.
The Trojans shot a 26-over par 314 in the opening round and are just seven shots behind the leader, Jacksonville State. Junior Fátima Fernández Cano paced the Trojans as she carded a 3-over 75 and is tied for fifth place, while Gabi Oubre shot a 6-over 78 and is tied for 22nd place.
Becca Horner, Kalyn Hudson and Bria Jansen all shot an 8-over 80 and are tied for 28th place; Hudson and Jansen are playing as individuals. Bianca Lohnauer is one-shot back in a tie for 38th place, while Abby Parks is tied for 40th place at 10-over par (Parks is playing as an individual). Lindsey Harrison is tied for 63rd place after shooting an 86 and Antonia Poate, who is playing as an individual, is tied for 69th.
Troy, Southern Miss and Morehead State will open tomorrow's split tee times as the pairing will tee off from No. 1 at 8 a.m.
