TROY, Alabama – The Troy football team practiced in full pads for the first time of fall camp as the Trojans spend just over 90 minutes on the practice fields behind Trojan Arena Wednesday morning.

Â
Thursday's practice schedule has been slightly altered, as the Trojans will now go at 9:15 a.m. as opposed to the evening practice that had been scheduled.

Head coach Neal Brown – Practice Five
On the first day in full pads…
First time we've really hit a lot of situations. We did some really good things, some lack of focus. I didn't like the way we finished, but I thought we competed hard, competed hard up and down, as far as offense won some drills, defense won some drills. You don't want to see one side dominating the other side. We saw some good flow today. I thought that offensively, some of the wide outs, Jarvis Bentley in particular, stepped up and made some plays. I thought (Brandon) Silvers was a little bit sharper. Defensively, I thought at linebacker, Justin Lucas had a really good day today and I thought Tyler Roberts was really active for us.
Â
On the younger guys…
The way we attack this, we had 15 practices in the spring. So, those guys that were here, we know what we've got from them. Some guys made some big improvements; Antonio Garcia added on about 15 pounds of positive weight, and is really having a good camp so far. Those new guys that are coming in, we're getting our first look at them and we want to make sure we give them enough reps so we can fairly evaluate them to see whether they're ready to play or not this year.
Â
On practice tomorrow…
We're going to come back and get after it. We're in a period now where we have to press on them. You've got to overcome some adversity as a football team, some shared hardships and right now that's where we're at. We are going to grind through today, grind through tomorrow, and grind through on Friday and we're going to get after it pretty good on Saturday at the scrimmage.
