Â
TROY, Alabama – Veterans Memorial Stadium and Trojan Arena will be buzzing on Saturday as Trojan fans will be able to enjoy a full day of fun and excitement on campus.
Â
The Troy football team will hold its final scrimmage of the fall beginning at 10 a.m. in Veterans Memorial Stadium. Fan Day presented by Camping World will follow at 1 p.m. in Trojan Arena with the football, soccer, volleyball and cross country teams, along with the cheerleaders and T-Roy. Finally, Football Appreciation Night will close out the day's festivities at 6 p.m. in Trojan Arena.
Â
"We're going to try and put some pressure on the quarterbacks," football head coach Neal Brown said of Saturday's scrimmage. "We're going to do a lot of situations and we're going to go shorter than the first two scrimmages – we went about 120 plays in each of the first two Saturday's. We are going to concentrate on some third downs, some red zone and just a lot of different situations to put the quarterbacks in some pressure.
Â
"Without questions it's a moving day," Brown said. "We are going to continue to evaluate the young guys. This is probably the last full tackle opportunity we will have until we go to Raleigh and suit it up for real. Some of the veterans we will probably hold, the guys who I know what to expect out of them. We're going to put some pressure on these young guys and see who performs when the stakes are high."
Â
At Fan Day, free posters will be available for fans to get autographs from all their favorite Trojan players and coaches, while the Trojan Warrior Fund will be on hand to provide fans with free food and drinks. New to Fan Day this year will be inflatable games located by the Trojan Arena Rotunda for all the young Trojans to enjoy.
Â
"I hope that we have a good turnout on Fan Day, especially with our young fans as it will be a great family event," Brown said. "Our kids really look forward to it. It is an opportunity for them to interact and I think our guys get as much out of it as our fans do.
Â
"Not only football wise, but our volleyball team, our soccer team, our cross country team and the cheerleaders are going to be there, so it's an opportunity for the Olympic sports to get out in front of the fans and have an opportunity to interact and for our football fans to get to know them as well."
Â
Fans can purchase tickets for Football Appreciation Night for just $125; each ticket admits two people. The evening will include heavy hors d'oeuvres, complementary beverages and a $10,000 grand prize. For more information or to register, call 334-670-3683 or e-mail masonh@troy.edu.
Â
Season tickets for all five home games, as well as tickets for away games, are available for purchase online, via telephone or in person. Season ticket prices start as low as $50 for general admission seats and $100 for reserved seats.Â
