Logan Hill Selected by Pittsburgh Pirates in MLB Draft

TROY, Alabama – Troy junior outfielder Logan Hill was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 25th round of the 2015 MLB First-Year Player Draft on Wednesday. Hill becomes the 18th player drafted since recently retired head coach Bobby Pierce took over the Trojans' program in 2003.
Hill, the 757th overall pick in the draft, finished the season ranked in the top 10 in the Sun Belt Conference in batting average (.354), hits (73), RBIs (42), stolen bases (13), total bases (113), slugging percentage (.549) and on-base percentage (.440). He put together a reached base streak of 21 games and recorded 20 multi-hit games including eight games with three hits.
The Pensacola, Florida, native was named second team All-Sun Belt in May and earned first team ABCA South Central All-Region honors earlier on Wednesday.
Hill played two seasons at Jeff Davis Community College in Brewton, Alabama. He was named an All-American after leading the state in batting average (.420) and home runs (8) in his sophomore season. Hill was also selected for the National Junior College Athletic Association National Team.
Clint Robinson, currently with the Washington Nationals, was also selected in the 25th round in 2007.
