Women’s Golf Cards Three Eagles on Final Day of NCAA Regional

SOUTH BEND, Indiana – The Troy women's golf team fired three eagles during its final round of the NCAA South Bend Regional on Saturday at the Warren Golf Course. The Trojans finished in 17th place as they made their second straight NCAA Regional appearance.
Taylor McGraw and Becca Horner picked up eagles on par-4 holes, while Langley Vannoy picked up an eagle on the par-5 fifth hole. Troy shot its best round of the weekend with a 14-over-par 302, which was among the best rounds of the day.
McGraw moved 20 spots up the leaderboard into a tie for 50th place after shooting a round of even par Saturday. After three early bogeys, McGraw played her final 11 holes at 3-under par with two birdies and the eagle.
Vannoy made the turn at 3-over par after a birdie and four bogeys on her front nine before playing the back nine at 2-over par thanks to her eagle on No. 5. Vannoy finished the Regional tied for 56th place after shooting a 5-over 77 on Saturday.
Fátima Fernández Cano finished in a tie for 72nd place after carding one birdie on Saturday before finishing her round at 5-over par. Horner moved up five spots into a tie for 76th place after shooting a 4-over 76 with an eagle, four bogeys and a double-bogey on the day. Sydney Conrad rounded out the field for the Trojans in 95th place after shooting an 83 in the final round.
Duke held off a late Wake Forest rally to claim the team championship by three strokes. UC Davis, Arizona, Tulane and Purdue rounded out the top six to advance to the NCAA Championship.
The Trojans finish the season with a 94-49-1 record and their second straight Sun Belt Conference championship.
