Troy Baseball Travels to Square Off Against ULM

TROY, Alabama – The Troy University baseball team will square off against ULM in a pivotal three-game Sun Belt Conference series beginning Friday at 6 p.m at Warhawk Field in Monroe, La. Game two of the series on Saturday is set for 6 p.m. and Sunday's finale is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Troy (25-20, 13-8 Sun Belt) enters the series winners of their last four games and look to gain ground in the Sun Belt Conference standings. The Trojans are fifth with the top five teams separated by fewer that two games. Troy has won five of its last six conference series including a pair of sweeps in its last two home series.
ULM (21-24, 8-13) has dropped five of its lasts six games including two-of-three to Georgia Southern last weekend. The Warkhaws fell 16-6 on the road to Nicholls on Wednesday.
Grant Bennett (8-2, 2.51) will lead the Trojans into the weekend on Friday. The junior paces the Sun Belt with eight wins and is third in strikeouts and fifth in ERA. Bennett is coming off a complete game victory over Texas State last week, his third of the season. Lucas Brown (5-1, 2.23) has been nothing short of spectacular as well, ranking third in the league in ERA. Brown tossed seven scoreless innings against Texas State in his last outing.
Offensively, the Trojans have been red-hot lately, recording double-digit hits in six of their last seven games. Trevin Hall leads the team with a .377 batting average while Logan Hill looks to add to his team-high 35 RBIs. Infielder TJ Binder has been difficult to retire of late, batting .500 (8-for-16) with a .636 on-base percentage over the team's last five games. Preseason All-Sun Belt selection David Hall in 6-for-14 with a pair of home runs over that same span.
Troy will look to contain Warhawks infielder Keelin Rasch, who is batting .344 on the year with seven home runs and 33 RBIs. Alex Hermeling (3-6, 3.74) will get the nod for ULM on Friday with left-hander Trey Setzer (5-2, 3.27) taking the mound on Saturday. Setzer is second in the Sun Belt with 65 strikeouts.
The Trojans lead the all-time series with ULM 18-8 including an 8-4 mark at Warhawk Field.
