Troy Softball Concludes 10-Game Road Trip at No. 5 Alabama

TROY, Alabama – The Troy softball team will conclude its 10-game road trip with a trip to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to face No. 5 Alabama at Rhoads Stadium on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Troy (29-19), winners of four straight, is 2-3 against top-10 opponents this season and has a 7-2 record on its current road trip.

The Trojans' two wins over top-10 opponents both came on the road at then No. 10 Florida State and No. 7 UL Lafayette. The two wins were the first back-to-back victories over top-10 opponents in school history.

Hannah Day leads the Trojans offensively with a team-high .324 batting average and 38 RBIs. Becca Hartley and Amanda Winters have nine home runs each this season, which ties them for tops on the team.

Jaycee Affeldt leads the team with a 2.59 ERA and 125 strikeouts in 151.1 innings of work. Opponents are batting .235 when facing Affeldt.

When facing top-10 opponents, Hartley is batting .333 with three home runs and six RBIs. Â Affeldt has a 1.91 ERA with 14 strikeouts in 22 innings of work against top-10 teams. Top-10 opponents are batting .167 when facing Affeldt.

The Crimson Tide have a trio of pitchers, all with an ERA below 2.50 and at least 50 strikeouts on the season. Alexis Osorio leads the team with 145 strikeouts in 122.1 innings of work. Alabama has a team ERA of 1.87, which ranks ninth in the nation.
