Troy Travels to No. 7 UL Lafayette for Sun Belt Series

TROY, Alabama – The Troy softball team travels to No. 7 UL Lafayette for a Sun Belt series at Lamson Park this weekend. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. and the series finale will begin at noon on Sunday.

Both games on Saturday will be broadcast live on ESPN3, while fans will be able to watch Sunday's game on TroyTrojans.com. Live stats for all three games will be available at TroyTrojans.com.

The Trojans (17-12, 3-3 Sun Belt) are coming off a big 6-4 victory over No. 10 Florida State in extra innings in a midweek contest on Wednesday. Becca Hartley highlighted the offense going 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBIs.

Hannah Day leads the Trojans offensively with a .384 batting average and a team-high 29 RBIs. Day has a .651 slugging percentage that also leads the team.

Hartley and Michelle Phelps lead the team with five home runs each. Hartley has 19 RBIs on the season and Phelps has 25 RBIs and has a .306 batting average.

Jaycee Affeldt enters the series with a 3.14 ERA and a team-high 66 strikeouts in 78 innings of work.

UL Lafayette (23-3, 8-1 Sun Belt) is coming off a sweep over Georgia Southern. The Ragin' Cajuns have seven different players batting over .300 and are lead pitching wise by Jordan Wallace, who has a 1.02 ERA with 125 strikeouts in 82 innings of work.
