Troy Softball Set to Host No. 12 Auburn

TROY, Alabama – The Troy softball team is set to host the No. 12 Auburn Tigers at the Troy Softball Complex at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Live video and live stats will be available at TroyTrojans.com.

Troy (13-11, 0-3 Sun Belt) looks to bounce back after being swept by Georgia State in the Sun Belt Conference series opener last weekend.

The Trojans are led by Hannah Day, who is batting .362 with six doubles, one triple and three home runs. Day has 17 RBIs on the season and has a .609 slugging percentage, which leads the team.

Khadija Neely has been stellar at third base, with a .984 fielding percentage and has recorded a team-high 46 assists this season, which is second highest in the Sun Belt. Neely leads the team with eight of Troy's 36 doubles. The team's doubles total is two more than the amount hit all of last season.

Becca Hartley enters the contest with a 24-game reached base streak. Hartley has drawn 13 walks this year and has an on-base percentage of .416.

No. 12 Auburn (25-2) comes in winning 17 of its 25 games in five innings due to the NCAA's eight-run rule. One of those 17 wins came last weekend against then No.13 Arizona, as the Tigers thrashed the Wildcats, 20-5. The two losses came against Dartmouth and Cal State Fullerton.

The last time Troy and Auburn played was on February 5, opening night for NCAA softball, with Auburn winning, 15-5. Troy started off hot and plated four runs in the first inning, but Auburn rallied to plate 10 runs of its own in the bottom half of the inning.
