Troy Women’s Golf in 11th Following Opening Round of FSU Match-Up

TALLAHASSEE, Florida – The Troy women's golf team opened its spring season Friday by shooting a 312 in the opening round of the Florida State Match-Up at the Southwood Golf Club. The Trojans are in 11th place in a field that includes six top-40 teams and 10 that are ranked in the top 70.
Taylor McGraw is the leader in the clubhouse for the Trojans after shooting a 4-over 76 on her first trip through the course. McGraw picked up one birdie around five bogeys during her round and is tied for 24th place.
Fátima Fernández Cano opened her round with a birdie on the 512-yard, par-5 No. 1 and added a birdie on No. 17 to finish her day at 5-over. Cano is tied for 35th place, while Sydney Conrad is one shot back of her teammate in a tie for 44th following a round of 6-over thanks to a birdie on No. 16.
No. 2 South Carolina holds a four-stroke lead over No. 9 Mississippi State for the team lead, while Texas A&M's Bianca Fabrizio holds the individual lead following a 3-under 69.
Becca Horner and Langley Vannoy round out the field for the Trojans as they are tied for 60th and 63rd place, respectively.
