Â
TROY, Alabama – The Troy volleyball team will honor four seniors prior to its match on Sunday as the Trojans host Little Rock at Trojan Arena at 12 p.m. Troy has clinched a spot in the Sun Belt tournament and can still finish as high as 4th place in the standings.
Â
The Trojans will start their Sunday by honoring Madeleine Bouillion, Ali Dowdall, Darby Griff and Blair Winston, who have all been in the Troy program for four years. Fans can watch the Senior Day ceremony as part of the match broadcast. Links to the broadcast and live stats can be found on the volleyball schedule page at TroyTrojans.com.
Â
Troy (13-16, 6-8) will be looking to snap a five-match losing streak and will hope to do so at home where it is 10-4 this season. Troy is looking to win 11 home matches for the first time in its Division I history.Â
Â
Offensively, Winston leads the Trojans with 340 kills and a 3.09 kills per set average, the 10th best mark in the Sun Belt. The Marietta, Ga., native is just 25 kills shy of her single-season career high.
Â
Griff leads the Trojans with a .254 attack percentage and also paces the frontline defensively with 108 total blocks, the most in the Sun Belt. Griff, Troy's career leader in blocks, is the first Trojan in the last 20 years to post back-to-back 100-block seasons.
Â
On the Troy back line, Dowdall averages 4.74 digs per set and has a Sun Belt-best 540 digs this season. The Davison, Mich., native has posted double-digit digs in all but one match this season, with 20-plus digs in 13 matches.
Â
Little Rock (11-12, 7-6) is the defending Sun Belt champion, but currently sits in a three-way tie for fourth place in the Sun Belt standings. The Trojans have won three of their last four matches with the lone loss coming at Sun Belt leader Arkansas State. Little Rock plays at South Alabama on Friday before traveling to Troy.
Â
Little Rock and Troy met earlier this season with the Little Rock winning in three sets at the Jack Stephens Center in late September. With that loss, Troy is now 2-11 against Little Rock with the last win coming in 2012.
Â
Following Sunday's match, Troy will close its regular season at Georgia Southern on Friday, Nov. 13. Troy will then return to Statesboro, Ga., for the Sun Belt Championships, which begin on Friday, Nov. 20.
