STATESBORO, Georgia – The Troy volleyball team dropped a tough four-set decision to Appalachian State, 3-1 (25-17, 25-16, 25-27, 25-13), in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Championships at Hanner Fieldhouse.

Troy (14-18), the tournament's No. 7 seed, combined for just 18 kills in the first two sets, but responded with 20 in the third set to get back into the match. However, Appalachian State, the tournament's No. 2 seed, held Troy to a .033 attack percentage and won the fourth set to clinch the match.

Blair Winston led Troy with 17 kills in the final game of her career. She finishes the season with 383 kills, a career high. Reina Terry posted 38 assists as the Trojans hit .149 on the day.

Ali Dowdall, also playing in her final game, led the Trojans with 24 digs, giving her 602 digs on the season to break her own single-season school.

Appalachian State (21-7) hit .306 as a team, led by a .409 mark with 11 kills from Ashton Gregory. The Mountaineers move on to the tournament's semifinals where they will take on the winner of Texas State and South Alabama.
