Troy Looks to Continue Perfect Homestand

TROY, Alabama – The Troy volleyball team has started a six-match homestand with three wins and will look to add two more this weekend when ULM and UL Lafayette visit Trojan Arena on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Each match begins at 6 p.m., and admission to all home Troy volleyball matches is free.

Troy (8-11, 2-4) has won three straight matches, including a five-set win over rival South Alabama on Tuesday. The Trojans are now 7-2 at home this season with the only two losses coming in five sets to Appalachian State and Arkansas State who are a combined 12-0 in Sun Belt play entering this weekend.
Blair Winston is averaging 2.96 kills per set to lead the Troy offense this season, but lately Sara Landis and Leah Causey have joined her in carrying the offensive load. During Troy's three-match winning streak, all three are averaging 2.50 kills per set.
Defensively, Ali Dowdall is coming off of a 31-dig performance against South Alabama and ranks fourth in the Sun Belt at 4.84 digs per set. Darby Griff also ranks fourth in the Sun Belt at 1.11 blocks per set. With 285 career blocks, Griff is now just 19 away from breaking the Troy career record.
ULM (11-8, 2-3) has lost three straight matches, all at home, including a five-set loss to UL Lafayette on Wednesday. The Warhawks won the first two sets, but fell in the final three to the Ragin' Cajuns. ULM's two Sun Belt wins both came in five sets, on the road at Georgia Southern and UL Lafayette.
UL Lafayette (5-13, 1-5) got its first Sun Belt win of the season on Wednesday in the five-setter at ULM. Prior to that win, the Cajuns had lost eight of nine matches. UL Lafayette plays at South Alabama on Friday before traveling to Troy.
Troy is 10-3 all-time against ULM, but the Warhawks have won the last three meetings, all in five sets. Troy is 8-8 against UL Lafayette, including losses in the last three meetings. Troy is 6-1 at home against ULM and 5-2 at home against UL Lafayette.
Following the two Sun Belt matches, Troy will close its six-match homestand when Florida A&M visits Trojan Arena on Tuesday.
