Troy Takes Winning Streak on the Road

TROY, Alabama – After a perfect six-match homestand, the Troy volleyball team now takes that six-match winning streak on the road with matches at ULM and UL Lafayette on Friday and Saturday, respectively.Â

The Trojans first take on ULM on Friday at Fant-Ewing Coliseum at 6:30 p.m. They then travel to play UL Lafayette on Saturday at Earl K. Long Gym, also at 6:30 p.m. Links to live stats and live video for both matches can be found on the volleyball schedule page at TroyTrojans.com.

Troy (11-11, 4-4) is coming off of a five-set win over Florida A&M on Tuesday in front of a record 2,021 fans at Trojan Arena. Troy is less a week removed from home wins over this weekend's opponents.

The Trojans swept ULM last Friday and beat UL Lafayette in four sets last Saturday. Troy held the Warhawks and Cajuns to .057 and .117 attack percentages, respectively.Â

On the season, Troy is holding opponents to a .165 attack percentage, the second best mark in the Sun Belt. Senior Ali Dowdall is averaging 4.86 to lead the Trojans, a mark that ranks fourth in the Sun Belt. Additionally, Darby Griff has a Sun Belt-best 93 blocks this season and is just seven away from surpassing the 100-block mark for the second straight season.

Offensively, Blair Winston is averaging 3.06 kills per set and has posted double-digit kills in seven of her last nine matches.

ULM (11-10, 2-5) has lost five straight matches with four of the five coming in straight sets. The Warhawks were swept at Troy and at South Alabama last weekend.

UL Lafayette (5-15, 1-7) has lost four its last five matches with the lone win coming over ULM. The Ragin' Cajuns last played when they lost at Trojan Arena. They will host Georgia Southern on Friday before welcoming Troy to town on Saturday.
