Troy Travels to Face Auburn on Tuesday

TROY, Ala. – The Troy University baseball team will travel to Plainsman Park to face the Auburn Tigers on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on WTBF 94.7 and live audio streamed on TroyTrojans.com.
The Trojans are coming a series sweep at the hands of No. 2 UL Lafayette. Troy's offense did, however, explode for eight runs in the eighth inning of game two. It was the fourth time this season that the Trojans have scored seven or more runs in an inning. Matthew Howard and Justin Hancock hit home runs in the inning to spark the offense. It was the ninth multi-home run game of the season for the Trojans.
Troy (16-16) is led at the plate by David Hall (.343) but have enjoyed the recent hot swinging bat of Jo-El Bennett. Over the last four games Bennett is 7-for-15 (.467) with a pair of double and four RBIs.
Auburn (19-14) was also swept over the weekend by Ole Miss. The Tigers lost the first game of the series on a three-run home run in the 13th inning on what was an attempted intentional walk.
Jordan Ebert heads the Tigers' offensive attack with a .385 average. Blake Austin leads the squad with 22 RBIs while Damek Tomscha has turned in 21 RBIs with a team-high seven doubles.
Auburn leads the all-time series with Troy 37-17 including a 29-4 mark at Plainsman Park. The Trojans' last win in Auburn was 2008.
